Sou'wester ... ... ... 1 Poet t Nelson ... f Wapiti was scratched, leaving eleven horses in. Passing the stand the first time, Nelson led, but shortly after Ba• dames deprived him of the lead. At the back of the coarse, Nelson again took up the running. Entering the straight, Nelson and Poet were hard at it, bat Sou'wester came through half-way up the straight, and won by a length. The Poet and Nelson ran a dead heat for second place. Time, 3min. 12secs. This day. The course is nearly as well attended as yesterday. The ■ seven horses entered on the card started for the Grand Stand Handicap, two miles; the Poet got away with the lead, and at once took up the running at a strong pace; on passing the stand for the first time Escopeta had a slight advantage over the Poet, the others in a cluster a length away. At the far side of the course the Poet was once more in front, Tim Whiffle? beginning to move through his horses, but the issue was never in doubt, the Poet winning easily by a length, Tim Whiffler second, two lengths in front of Eedames, The Provincial Produce Stakes resulted in a win for lona, Assegai second, and Briar third. Briar went out a favorite at five to two in a field of foe? at the start; but lona getting away with the lead was never caught, and won easily by two lengths. , ,

Freeth, riding Whalebone, was taking the last hurdle, when the horse struck the top with its forefoot, and then fell over on its rider, who could not stand when picked up, and said he felt hurt inwardly. Levant then took second place.

G.J.C. Handicap, 125sovs, 2 miles; five ran. This was a slow race. Jack, 1; Sincerity, 2; Marie Stewart, 3.

Bailway Stakes Handicap—Happy Jack, 1; Lady Harpis, 2 ; Maggie, 3. The Handicap HtrBDLEs was won by Harkaway by a fluke.

The Hack Eace was won by Miss Comical.
