This day.

The Governor did not come to town on Saturday, the Hinemoa leaving for the North fonr hoars after arrival, for the purpose of visiting Hokianga, Whangaroa, and Bay of Islands. He will also visit fauaraDga and the Hot Lakes before taking up his residence in Auckland.

The Hons. Kerferd and Gillies have returned from the Lakes, and go to Sydney on Wednesday.

A house belonging to Deidrick Bartle, farmer, at Ohaupo, was burned down this morning. Incendiarism is suspected.

Nearly 2000 children took part in the Catholic Schools' procession to the Domain ; one child was run over, and had both legs broken. In a dispute that arose over some arrangements, one of the Committee struck Monsigneur Fynea, VicarGeneral.
