Extensive Fire.

A destructive fire occurred last night at Borthwick's oil warehouse, in George street. The insurances on the property amount to £16,000.

A boat containing passengers from the steamship City of Sydney was yesterday cut in two by the steamer Emu. The occupants of the boat had a miraculous escape.

Adelaide, Saturday.

In the cricket match, Australian Eleven v. Fifteen of South Australia, the home team in their second innings put together a total of 189. The Australians then commenced tbeir second innings, and when play was stopped had scored 112 without losing any wickets. Bannerman made 34 and Bonnor 73, being both not out; extras, 5; total, 112. The match was drawn, and the Australian team subsequently sailed for England by the steamer Sutlej. Sydney, Saturday.

Arrived this evening: The P.M.S. City of Sydney, from San Francisco, via Auckland.

Hanlon was accorded an enthusiastic reception on arrival of the steamer by which he was a passenger. As yet he has not arranged for any matches with Australian oarsmen, and he intends to give rowing exhibitions throughout the colonies. Hanlon will visit New Zealand on his return, and will give similar exhibitions at various places.
