This day. The , Frome Times, an English pro^ vineialpaper, oF; January 16th, states that Mr J. W. Oram, late of Christchureh, and now residing in England, received by the s.s. lonic, a consignment of frozen sheep and lamb, from his brother Mr Harry Oram, of Christchurch. After making a number of presents, Mr J. W. Oram had the remainder sold by auction in Midsomer Norton, and Bath, and realised an average of 7| d per lb by the carcase at Bath, and at Midsomer Norton of B|d for the mutton and lOd for the lamb. The paper states it was very good, and per*, fectly fresh,

Arrived, this morning: The s.s. lonic, from London, all well.

The s.s. lonic which arrived at 7 o'clock this morning left London on January the 24th, Plymouth on the : 28th, and Santa Cruz, Teneriffe, on February 3rd; thus making the voyage in 43 days 5 hours, exclusive of stoppages. The longest days run was 338 miles. She has 20 first, 39 second, 74 third cabin, and 238 steerage passengers, and 2147 tons of cargo. No deaths occurred on the voyage, and there was one birth. The steamer experienced a fierce gale with heavy squalls of rain and. wind, and a high head sea in the English Channel. She passed the Cape of Good Hope early on the morning of the 20th February^ and had moderate weather, with occasional squalls of wind and rain. From the Cape .. to .Wellington a fresh* breeze and overcast weather were experienced.
