Wanganui, Yesterday. The following races were run after our report closed last night :— Nubseey Handicap of 50 soys., for two year olds; distance, f mile. Parvenu ... 1 Miss Puritan 2 Titokowaru ... ... ... 3 This was a good race between the first two. Time. lmin. 24secs. Dividendinside, £117s ; outside, £118s. Distbict Plate of 150 soys., second horse 30 soys., third horse to save stakes, two miles. Hinemoa 1 Ahau 2 Buzzard 3 Eingleader, Parira, Leonessa, Wairuareka, Dusk, Shaun, and Blue Gown also ran. The horses got away with a fair start, Wairuareka and Blue Gown at once going to the front. After the first mile Hinemoa challenged the leaders, and a fine race followed between Hinemoa, Ahau, Dusk, and Buzzard, none of the others being troublesome. Up the straight Hinemoa came away pretty easily, and won by a length from Ahau, who had Buzzard on his quarter. Time, 3mins. 45 2-sth sees. Dividend—inside, £5 4s ; outside, £6 6s. Consolation Stakes, 40 soys. Administrator ... ... 1 Witiora 2 Libeller 3 Okata and Dusk also ran. Half-a-mile from home Administrator and Libeller went up, and it appeared to be almost the latter's race at the turn into the straight. However, Witiora came up with a big rush, and took a good lead, but Derritt, by a splendid piece of jockeying, once more brought Administrator up, and won by a neck. Dividend—inside, £1 19s; outside, £2. This concluded the meeting, which was a very successful one, the races all being well contested. The bookmakers did not do a great deal, but the totalisator was well patronised, £7153 being put through during the two days.
