At the University Senate, Mr Fitchett laid on the table minutes of the convocation, and a committee was appointed to consider them. On the motion of Professor Shand certain alterations were made in the statute relating to senior scholarships. On rising the Senate adjourned till Monday. The Nelson Philosophical Society entertain the members of the Senate tonight. A large bush fire, which destroyed three houses, a large quantity of stock, and a hundred acres of valuable bush, is reported from Happy Valley.
