NEW PLYMOUTH.

f his day,

A fire occurred last evening at the Sash and Door Factory, which, however, was quickly suppressed. It originated from the flue of the boiler, which being overheated, caused the floor of the second storey to become ignited. It was soon put out, and not much damage was done. An attempt to burn down the building at the corner of Devon and Brougham streets was discovered yesterday afternoon. The fire had burnt itself out, or nothing could have saved the block.
