The crushing of three loads of quarts from the winze at the intermediate level was finished yesterday for the return of 2ozs* 3dwts retorted gold. This is not so much as was expected from the amount of gold seen in the stone. The manager is now prospecting by himself. ROCKY POINT. The proprietors of this claim, after driving about 700 feet, and a good deal of this through hard country, struck the AdeJaide reef yesterday on the boundary of the two claims. It is nearly a foot thick, and though showing no gold where cut through, is of a promising description of quartz. Mr S. Farmer, manager, to-day brought down a parcel of 68ozs 6d#ts gold, which was reduced to 67ozs 13dwts on melting. This is the product of IC3 tons of general dirt broken from the reefs in the low level tunnel.
