This day At the Land Board this morning, A. Eimbell, second highest bidder for one of the Strath Taieri pastoral deferred payment sections, applied to be declared the purchaser. On the motion of Mr Stout, it was resolved to refer the applicant to the Crown Solicitor for his advice, and that if the Board cannot declare him the purchaser, the matter be referred to the Minister of Lands. The Chief Commissioner intimated he had received notice of appeal from those whose licenses have been forfeited.

Mr Watt has been re-appointed Sheriff. The result of the Education Board election has been Shand, 120; MacSregor, 90; Begg, 87; Elder, 79; Johnston, 79.
