• ;. Kifle Camp (Ellersie ) This day. • The weather broke beautifully fine this morning, and there is a pleasant cool breeze blowing across the range. Exception was taken to the employment of Wellington markers, but the disadvantage of this is now seen, inasmuch as that nearly all the markers engaged in Auckland did not torn up to time this morning, and; consequently the shooting was delayed fully an hour and a half. The first shot will be fired about 10.30. ; 1 p.m. Prize Money Increased. A meeting of the Executive was held on the range this morning, when- the money collect'l at Auckland- was added to the, prize list as follows :—£2o was added to the Nelson Match; £15 to the Canter bury Match ; £15 to the Otago Match ; and £10 to the Marlborough Match. In the Rifle Companies' Challenge Match, the first prize was increased to £30; the second, to £i 5; and the third to £5 ; the fourth prize being struck out. The same alteration was made in the Carbine Challenge Match, t The total of addedmpney, is £91, and this makes the total sum for distribution about £650. ■£ . .f <;* 3

Nelson Match.—First lor rifle or carbine belt; 300 and SCO yards ; seven ounds. Open to all members. First prize, £12; second, £10; third, £8; fourth, £6; fifth, £5; sixth and seventh, £4 each ; eighth, ninth, and tenth, £2 each ; eleventh to fifteenth, £1 each. [Not —£20 has since been added in this match].

Firing commenced at eleven this morning, and will not finish until late this afternoon.

The 800 yards range in the Nelson match is just finished ; the following are the 10 highest scorers; —Johnson (Nelson), and Paynter (Nelson), each 27; Churton (Wanganui),* Willis (Wairoa), and Amodt (Wanganui), each 26; Turner (Wellington) 25; Wells (Taranaki), Pennington (Wpnganui), Harding (Blenheim), and Thomas (Thames), ' :ch 24. Shooting will be resumed at 2 o'clock.
