The match was to be run in five distances of ICO, 2C3,3C0, 350, and 400 yards rei spectively. We Jds we: the favorite. The ICO yards was won by Hulston by a yard, and in the 4.3D yards Woods led after 80 yards, and being a dozen yards ahead a little way from home, Hulston stDpped ; and the 2C3 yards was won by Woods by half-a-dozen yards, after which the result was looked upon as a crtainty for Woods. For the 350 yards tho betting was 10 to 1 on Woods. Hulston got away Sfirefc, and after going twenty yards deliberately ran in front of Woods, who, with the impetus he had, kiiocked Huhton over, and won as he liked. Hulston's supporters raised some hubbub over this, but met with no sympathy, £ o it was considered Huleton's dodge was too palpable. The 300 yards did not require to be run. After a good deal of dispute in regards to the 350 yards, Woods consented to rua it over again, with the result that he won with much. ease.
