This day. A rather serious robbery at the public baths/ in which three school teachers are interested parties, has been reported to the Board of Education. .
Te Kooti, with a largo number of followers, was at Kihikihi yesterday. He said that the Governor leaves Wellington for Auckland about the 15th March, and spends about three months here.
Miss Chitty has had her collarbone fractured by a buggy accident at Hamilton.
From the evidence given at the inquest on Morgan, who committed suicide, it appears that the unfortunate youth had taken it into his head that the young lady to whom he was attached was " flirting," and to have become depressed and affected in his mind. The verdict was that Morgan committed suicide while in a state of temporary insanity.
A Naval Artillery corps has been formed at the North Shore, with Professor Brown as Captain.
The Board of Education has agreed that girls holding scholarships, when" obliged to board away from home, should receive £40 instead of £30 per annum. The Secretary said that the scholarship fund amounted to £1000, and that the aggregate amount required for scholarships was £547. .
