Parliament is further prorogued until the 7th of April. The sentence of death passed on William Pearce, for the murder of .his paramour at Dunedin, has been commuted to imprisonment for life.
A young man. named Nixon was to-day sentenced to-day sentenced to 14 days' imprisonment for an assault on one of the Salvation Army. >.
