This day,
Tawhiao has returned from Kawhia, and on coming back he lost a belt contain* ing £300, collected for the expenses of his trip to England. It is stated that Te Wheoro will accompany him on the Home trip, also representatives of the Arawas, Ngatihauas, and Ngatimaniopotos. He holds a meeting in March, at which all arrangements for the trip will bo dia~ cussed.
Mr J. C Firth has received a consignment of humble bees in a torpid state from England by tho s.s. Doric; they were conveyed in a chilled room. The object is to fertilise red clover; Mr Firth reckons that if successful, it will save him a thousand a year upon the importation of clover seed.
A boy named James Bradbury had his skull fractured yesterday by a brick falling from the upper scaffold of a new building in Albert street.
