LABOUR REPORT.
. R. M. Heighton and Co., 177 Queen street, Auckland, report as follows :—The ordinary bnßiness has followed with many engagements which have taken place; wages are still at the last quotations, with the exception of some few men and women of superior abilities having a higher pay for their services. Women servants r.re still in demand; the supply a little more regular than the last week. We have a number of men and some few women servants, also youths, on our books anxiously waiting-for employment j married couples, those without children, not over plentiful. Employers would do well to forward us their orders early. Engagements :— Married couples £75 and found, cooks 25s to 50s, grooms and gardeners 20s to 35s and found, farm hands 20s to 255, farm laborers and milkers 10s to 20s, nurse girls 5s to 10s, housemaids 10s to 12s, general servants 8s to 14s, cooks 15s to 2Cs, parlourmaids 12s, laundresses 14s to 16?. We have waiting for employment:—Storeman, grooms, gardeners, married couples, cooks, clerks, bush hands, tradesmen, and general hands, governos; eB, housekeepers, needlewomen,, and charwomen.
