A committee appointed to examine the plans for the Public Library and Art Gallery has reported in favor of the motto " Litera Arts et Scientise " with " Tattaria" second. The report will be considered to-night in the council, which.may accept or alter the recommendation.
John Herbert Mason, aged eleven years, son of Mason, hairdresser, was drowned at Shelly Beach yesterday. The boy had gone into the water to save another boy's hat which had blown off.
