Yesterday. The Now Zealand Shipping Company's new steamer Aorangi, Captain Turpin, arrived from London, via Teneriffe and Hobart, at 5.30 this evening. Her passage, which occupied 45 days include ing detentions, has been an uneventful one. The health of the passengers throughout has beon excellent, and no casualties occurred. This day. Mr Stoddart, of Hampden, an Otago settler, who has returned by the Aorangi, brought out with him 100,000 Loch Leven 1 trout ova. The boxes have been opened j here, and it is found that a considerable proportion are dead, some apparently having uot been impregnated. The ova in one box however is in fairly good condition, and wil be forwarded to Otago by the Te Anau on Monday. Messrs Levin end po., agents of the steamer Napier received a telegram this morning stating that the steamer went asfaore inside the mouth of the Bangitijcei river, and is making a great deal of water —assistance iram^dj^ejv wanted.

The steamer Napier, which ran ashore at the mouth of the Rangitikei River, is insured for £2250. The amount is distributed amongst several offices, the names of which are not yet known. Captain Bendall, of the Underwriters' Association, leaves for Rangitikei tonight. The^ agents of the Fusilier, ashore at Turakina beach, near Wanganui, have received the following telegram from the captain this morning :—" Every tide is driving vessel further up beach."
