A PPLIOATION has been made by Mat- />„ thbw Vaughan for permission to construct a Water Race for mining purposes, commencing at a point on the Waipatakahu (Tapu) Creek, marked A on plan lodged in Warden's Office, and terminating at a point 320 chainß lower down (marked B) as Bhown on plan. The length of such Race is about 320 chains, or thereabouts, and its intended course is along the Waipatakahu Creek. The mean breadth and depth of such Race is a V shoot with 12-inch sides;, it is capable,of carrying two sluice-heads of water, and the number of sluice-heads, of forty inches each, which it is proposed to appropriate, is two.
