OUR MINES.

NEW PRINCE IMPERIAL.

Six pounds of specimens were bagged yesterday from the winze below No. 5 level, some of them being the richest yet taken from the winze. The leader was not broken to-.day. The reef in the eastern drive, same level continues to look well, showing gold at each breaking. Small parcels of specimens come to hand daily from the stopes west of the break, about 6Olbs having been secured since Tuesday. The general dirt is showing up for a splendid'average, so the return this month promises to he a rich one.

LONDON.

The contractors for the crosscut for No. 1 reef at No. 4 level have accomplished 92ft. out of the 100 tendered for. The country is an excellent class of sandstone, and according to Mr Bayldon's survey the reef should be to hand in 15ft. more. A small leader five inches wide was cut this morning; it is identical with the crossleader worked in the Mariner ground. The quartz carries good minerals, though no gold was seen in cutting through it.

Tbe trial parcel of 15 tons now being treated at the Golden Crown battery will be all through the stamper^ to night, but the blanketitjgs wi^ not be finished in timatp retort to-morrow, so the return will pome to hand on Monday.

DARWIN.
