The Primitive Methodist Conference considered the proposal basis for a union of the Methodist Churches in New Zealand and a resolution was carried by 22 to 3 adopting heartily the basis of union agreed to by the committee in Christchureh last July, a3 embodying a fair and workable constitution, meeting the needs of Methodism in New Zealand.
This day. In the Pearce murder case, the full right of challenge was exercised by prisoner's counsel, and the Crown challenged one juror. Mr Haggitt, in Jopening the case, said that after the prisoner's committal he admitted to detective Bain that he had thrown his fishmongers knife into the bay.
