Work was on Wednesday resumed <in the Smile of Fortune, Owharoa, under the new manager, Mr C. S. Farmer, and in the Martha Extended, Waihi,; under i Mr J. H. Moore. Several tribute parties have resumed work io Waitekauri and Owharoa. The Hauraki mine, Karangahake, has resumed work under Mr Peter. Hansen, and we understand that Sir ITansen also takes charge of the Ivanhoe, where exceptionally good prospects have been obtained within the last few days by Mr James Liddell. Mr Bull (Thames) is collecting information preliminary to an effort being made to erect a second bat* ;. tery at Karangahake.—Tribune.
