A man named William Pearce has been arrested for the murder of Matilda Hancock. The two were cohabiting together, red both were abandoned characters. The woaaa has been frequently confined for drunkenness and prostitution, whilst Pearce only a few months sinc3 came out of gaol after serving 18 months on a serious charge. The woman was stabbed on the 20th inst.,.and died tD-day at neon. Pearcr waß am aied this afternoon on the charge named. Wo particulars are yet to hand a? to hovr the stabbing nroae.
