Mr Ferguson has sent in bis report of his coal explorations to the Chairman of the "Raglan Connty Coxincil. He reports finding a sis foot seam of coal at a depth of six feet. The firgt three feet from the surface is clay, and the second three feet clay fit for pottery purposes. He also reports the finding of feeders to the seam in other creeks, showing that the coal formation extends over a large area, He gave a quantity of coal to the engineer of the steamer Eowena, who used it, and reported it as being much superior to the coal from the Waikato mines.
