The Triumph Disaster.

(FKOM OtJB OWN COBEESPONDENT).

AUCKLAND.

This day.

News from the Triumph has just arrived. A howling north-easter was blowing last night, and the ship was driven higher upon the rocks, which are now showing on both sides, and through her foremast going through the bottom, she is lying well over on her beam ends. The sea last night was making a clean breach over her. The vessel generally is breaking up. The bottom is completely out of the first compartment, and threo hundred tons of railway iron have gone through. The engine-room and No. 2 compartment are full of water, and the rocks are plainly showing through the former. The afterhold is also filling with water, the bulkhead having carried away, Messrs Warsp and Clayton, surveyors, recommend the vessel to be sold, and this will be done. -
