AUSTRALIAN.
(Eeceived December 10, 12.45 p.m.) Melbocene, Yesterday. Arrived, yesterday morning: The Rotomahana, from the Bluff. The Convention. The Intercolonial Convention, which concluded its sittings at Sydney on Saturday last, is regarded here as a great success. A grand banquet will be given to-night at the House of Parliament to the delegates from the various colonies who are now in Melbourne with Mr Service, the Premier, as host.
The various resolutions proposed by Mr Whitaker and others, and agreed to by the Convention, are being transmitted to the Imperial Secretary of State for the Colonies by telegraph. Sydney, Yesterday. Rowing Match.
A sculling match took place on Saturday between Beach and Trickett, when the former was victorious. The time was very fast.
Lord Roseberry was entertained at a banquet on Saturday, and, in replying to the toast of his health, he expressed his admiration of the Australian colonies and their prospects.
