OUR MINES.

LONDON,

The drive in No. 2. leader is passing through fair country, and is bo near the winze that the manager expects to hole through early next week. A crosscut will then be started for No. 1 lode, which should be to hand within fire weeks. Colors are seen every breaking down of No. 1 reof at No. 3 level, and there are now about forty loads of quartz in hand, including some pounds of picked stone. Quartz is now being carted to Bull's bat* tery, and crushing will be commenced at once.

MARINER. The dropper from No. 1 reef has been driven on 34ft, seaward, and runs from one to three inches. It showed colors and dabs of gold all the way, and a few pounds of picked stone were obtained from it. A leading stope is now being carried along. Driving hillward on it has been commenced. The drive is in about 9ft., and colours of gold have been seen. Sinking the winze on the crosslode from ° Wo. 4 to No. 5 level, has been resumed, and it is carrying an excellent class of mineral. DART. Some of the lode was broken down to* day; it showed colors of gold, and no doubt is excellent crushing dirt. The reef is about 2ft. wide. Forty-seven loads have been crushed, and judging by the amalgam, the yield will be better than If ozs. to the load. Within a fortnight the battery, which now is only running one shift, will be increased to three shifts, when it will be surprising if this mine does not come to the front with at least 300 or 400 ounces gold a month.
