Thames Newspaper Co. y. Holden.— Claim, £6 13s 4d, for advertising.—Judgment for amount claimed and costs, 12s 6d.
Same v. W. A. Murray.—Claim, £18 2s 7d, for advertising.—The sum of £18 Is 7d was paid into Court, leaving a disputed balance of Is and costs of summons, lls.—After hearing the defendant's evidence, and proof of insertion of advertisements, the case was adjourned until two o'clock to allow the E.M. to hear the case, owing to Mr Enrenfried stating that he did not care to adjudicate upon it in consequence of his being a shareholder in the company. Upon resuming before the Eesidenfc Magistrate the case was withdrawn, having been settled out of Court.
D. Miller (as trustee in the estate of T. Grrundy) v. R. Onyon. Claim, £15 15s, for towage and carriage of timber.— Mr Lush appeared for plaintiff, and Mr Miller for defendant. It was decided that all technical objections be waived on both sides, with a view to a settlement being effected, and with such an object the case was adjourned for fourteen days to enable evidence to be taken at Te Aroha, and a proof of debt to be put in. Small, Gordon, and Lucas v. New North Devon Co.~Claim. £7 for the carriage of quartz. Mr Miller for plaintiff.— Judgment was given for the amount claimed, with costs £1 10s 6d.
