LABOUR REPORT.
It. M. Heighton and Co., 177, Queen street, Auckland, report aa follows;— The arrival of the b.b. Triumph has caused some little excite* ment in the labour market, and the' supply of men servants has been brisk. Our demands have enabled us to find employment for a large numbsr. The demand for women servants exceeds the supply, and high wageß are offering for good servants ; needlewomenj and married couples are plentiful. Our engagements were farm hands, 15s to '255; milkers, 10s to 20s ; grooms and gardeners, 15s to 30s; labourers, 6j to 8s; tradesmen, 7s to 12s; coalminers, 8s to 9s per day; Bhop hands, 15s to 30s ; (hop boys, 5s to 12s; boys for farms, 5s to 8s; housekeepers, £50; housemaids, 8s to 12b; needlewomen, and lady assistants, 10s to 12s ; general servants, 8s to 14s; laundresses, 12s to 15s; cooks, 12s to 255; nursegirls, 4s to 7s; barmaid, 20a; man cook, 30s. Employers wanting men should post tbeir orders early.
