NEW PRINCE IMPERIAL. Tenders were opened to-day for sinking a winze from No. 2 to No. 3 level, on the footwall of IN'o. 1 reef, a distance of about 130 feet. Six tenders were received, and the two lowest, being at the same figure, were accepted, and work will be commenced on Monday. The following are the amounts of the tenders :—G. W. Clark, 225; M. Ryan, 225; J. Sheary, 255; A. Thomas, 25s ; A. Russell, 29s 6d ; A. Burns, 32s 6d. The reef will be left standing in sinking. Good dabs and colors of gold were seen tc-day in breaking the No. 1 reef in the western drive at No. 3 level. The 13th stops west on No. 2 reef above No. 5 level will be started to-night. DEEP LEVEL CROSS. A few pounds of specimens were bagged to-day while breaking the hangingwall portion of No. 2 reef, in the stopes above No. 5 level, close to the junction with the footwall branch of the cross-lode. The footwall branch of No. 2 reef continues to look pretty well, a few good stones being obtained each time it is broken down. KURANUI HILL. Cleaning up and retorting took; place to-day for the yield of 64ozs IQdwfcs gold, for which about 100 ions of general dirt have been treated. None of the paresis shaped so well as was expected from the amount of gold seen in breaking them out. The dirt from No. 9 reef yielded fully 10 dwts per ton, nearly all the gold coming from the last 30ffc. driven. The leader in the face at present is a good strong body of (juartz, and the hangingwaU. leader in the' stope shows gold pretty freely. The dirt from the All Nations leadeV.yielded nearly an ounce per ton, but fchat from the Junction reef was worthless, though rich gold was got just above theUevei.
