AUCKLAND.
This day.
The armour from the Tower of London, sent out by Mr Mackelrie, has now come to hand, and is in the Museum. The boxes, however, hare not been opened, and it is doubtful whether this interesting collection can be displayed till better fitting and oases can be procured.
The Da Silva mystery is as great as ever. He took away his lunch to eat at school in the middle of the day, but he never went to the school at all; everything was left by him, and there was not the smallest symptom of preparations for a journey. Mrs Da Silva states that last Wednesday morning, the day her son was missed, about half an hour after he left for school at Parnell, she proceeded there to tell him something which she had forgotten to communicate to him before he left home, and on her arrival at the school the Head Master informed her that Da Silva had not been to school for a week ; apparently the Head Master had made no enquiry about the missing teacher at his home, nor had he communicated the fact of his absence to the School Committee. Mrs Da Silva favors the opinion that her son has left Auckland by sea. If this is so Da Silva probably left for Fiji by the Penguin, or for Chatham Islands by the brigantine Omaha. '
