THE CHORAL SOCIETY.

(To the Editor of the Evening Star.)

Sir. —As a member of the above, and a - great lover of music, I would through your columns ask the Committee whether " it would not be practicable for the Society to give another concert;, a day or two before Christmas, the leading feature of which would be a number of the choicestselections from the "Messiah." I an •- perfectly aware of the many difficulties itt (he way, but think if the matter were taken in hand with spirit, it would bs a great success, both musically and financially. I think that in order to make it a financial success, it would be necessary to have two or three soloists from Auckland, so as to • do justice to Handel's masterpiece. Hoping this letter may set the ball rolling.—l am, &c, G. F. H.
