Colonial breadstuff's are steady at last quotations. Adelaide flour, ex store, 325. Adelaide wheat, ex store, 465; New Zealand ditto, 38s 6d to 41s 6d. Australian tallow dull at 38s for best beef, 39s for best mutton.
London, November 13.
Consols, 101-g-; the market rate of discount has fallen to 2£, and now is 1 below the bank rate. New Zealand securities, Colonial breadstuff and tallow remain at yesterday^s quotations. The wool market is firm, and prices for crossbred are from a halfpenny to a penny higher than at the close of the sales for the month. Arrived to date for the next auctions, commencing on Tuesday, the 20th inst., 90,000 bales, the total probable quantity to be offered including bales left over from the last series is 150,000. D'Ubban, Nov. 14. Cetewayo, who has been the Sliest of Mr Osborne, British Commissioner in Zululand. since his surrender to the Imperial authorities, will shortly proceed to Capetown. It is announced that the British troops now stationed on the Zulu frontier are about to be withdrawn. Caibo, November 14. It is reported that another detachment of Egyptian troops, which was stationed at Suakim, a seaport on the Bed Sea, and the scene of the massacre of Egyptian troops by Hillmin on the 29th ulfc., has been attacked and routed with heavy loss by the rebels. Beblin, November 14. M. De Giers, Russian Minister for Foreign Affairs, arrived here to day. In the course of an interview between His Excellency and Prince Bismarck, M. De Giers took occasion to affirm the existence of friendship between the German and Russian Governments. , London, November 15. j A race has been arranged from Piy-1
mouth to Queensland between the yach Vestal and the ship Northern Monarch. The vessels will sail on the 24th inst.

London, November 13. Mr W. J. Hunt, ex-Chief Secretary and Minister of Lands of Samoa, has written to the Times, advocating that England, Germany, France, and the United States, should guarantee an independence to Samoa, Tonga, and other Pacific Islands, similar to that' which is enjoyed by Hawaii.

K.rXt is reported that the Premier of Madagascar has been murdered, and that the son of the former Queen has succeeded to his office. November 13. Sir Philip Cunliffe Owen, speaking at a banquet, expressed the opinion that the projected Colonial Exhibition at South Kensington in 1886 would prove a remarkable success. The Royal Geographical Society and the British Association for the Advancement of Science are devising plans: for the scientific exploration of New Quinea. The President of the Geographical Society contends that this ought to precede any action on tbe part of the Imperial or Colonial authorities. The American corn crop is expected to yield forty million bushels which is less than previous crops. M. dePallieres will probably accept the position of Minister of Education in the French Ministry.
