This day,
Duncan Mac Nab, lately a partner in the firm of McNab and Suiter, brewers, of Newmarket, proceeds to Gisborne by the Bteamer Waihora to-day. Mr Mac« Nab has purchased the Gisborne brewery from Messrs Whitson and , Son, and will in future carry on the, business as proprietor. : ' •
Dr. Mackellar, late House Surgeon at the Auckland Hospital, has been appointed Professor of Pathology and Morbid Anatomy in the Otago University.
The Onion Soap and Candle Works Co. held their annual meeting to-day. The receipts were £11,868, and the expenditure £11,363. The balance carried to new account was £505.
