New FiND—The manager is now breaking out good gold from both ends of the level, and from the face of the reef. This claim in itself is capable of keeping the whole 40 head constantly crushing, Peemibe.—Breaking down the reef is being continued from day today, with the usual highly satisfactory results. The men are now engaged stoping on No. I and 2 reefs. \

Wehahiko.—Stoping is being continued from the intermediate level, and the intermediate drire has been extended south for a distance of 15 feet on a reef averaging about 3 feet. The dirt from this portion of the ground is shaping very satisfactorily. Coionist.—The men are breaking out quartz from two different portions of the reef for forwarding to the battery. Gold can be seen showing more freely than hitherto.

Waitoki.—Stoping is being carried on in the block of ground immediately orer the shaft connecting with the low level, and a winze is being sunk from the surface on the footwall branch. This h expected to break through on, fte afopea oa

the main reef. It is really an excellent looking lode, and will yield good crushing stuff when put through the mill. Vulcan. —'The new discovery has now been proved to be a cross-lode striking into the Premier No. 1 reef. The reef has been stripped for a distance of 40 feet, and gold can be seen showing freely the whole distance.

Waiobongomai Co.—The reef has opened out to six feet in thickness, and is showing gold freely. Some nice picked stone came to hand during the week. Ettjbeka Co.—The winze to connect with the rise from the low level is down close on fifty feet, good, blotches of gold showing in the stuff as it is broken out. There is still about 40 feet to connect. The line for wire tramway to connect with county line will be at once proceeded with. This claim is some distance above, the. main county line, but when the wire tramway is completed, which will be about 19 chains in length, it is expected one man will be able to send down af^r least thirty tons a day. It is expected that this company will be in a position to start crushing at the beginning of the New Year.—News.
