LABOUR REPORT.
R. M. Heightok and Co., Labour Agents, 177, Queen street, report;— Our engagements' for the past week have been numerous, general servants, good cooks, and laundresses are; tcarce, also boys for general farm bands. We; have on the books clerks, married couples, housekeepers, youths, farmhands, miners, haiady men, ploughmen, good dairymen, and station hands, waiting employment. Our engagements during the week have been as followB: Married couples £70 to £80, dairymen £75 to £90, station hands £4.0 to £50, waiters 20s to 255, kotelmen 15s to 30b, milkers 15s to 20s, ploughmen £50 to £65, boys from: 5s to 15s, elderly men as usefula from 10s to 15s and found, general servants 10s to 16b, mechanics are scarce ; we find some difficulty in procuring good general servants. Nursegirls, housemaids, and barmaids are plentiful, womenservantsareslowat taking country situations, preferring the city. Several elderly men are waiting employment.
