WANGANUI.

Yesterday.

The trial of McGregor v. Boyd continued for the fifth day before the Chief Justice. The principal evidence taken was that of the manager of the Bank where the deceased J. McGregor kept his account, and two doctors who attended him, whoconsidered him more or less mentally incapable of transacting.important business. The plaintiff's case closed this afternoon', and Mr Travers, on behalf of defendant, obtained an adjournment till to morrow morning. It is uuderstood that the negotiations for a compromise will very likely be brought to a successful issue before then. ._ ■ •
