By a landslip in a tunnel on the Wei-. lington-Johnsonvilie seetioii of the Wel-lington-Manawatu Railway," two men named John Enwripht and Thomas O'Malley were killed. The overseer of the works, John Scanlan, was also buried, but was saved. Particulars have not yet reached town. . .+ ,■*'■? -: - • r

Particulars of the accident this morning are tohand. The men. were at work at 8.20, and Ehwright and O'Malley were engaged inside the tunnel filling a dray, when suddenly a slip occurred along the smooth face, above the meuv-who ■were completely buried. A gang of men set to work to.extricate them, but it was fully three-quarters of an hour before this was accomplished, and the unfortunate men were quite dead, theirljbdies being:fearfully mutilated, and their arms and legs broken in; several places. O'Malley, who is aged about 25 years, is a single man, and a recent arrival from London by the ship Oxford. Enwright is also single, and aged 30 years. An inquest will be held.
