AUCKLAND.
This day. Mr D. Hean, the Auckland manager of the National Bank, will shortly leave for Dunedin for the purpose of assuming the; position of Inspector of the Bank iv this colony during the absence of Mr^ymock, who^at present holds the position, and who is about to visit England. Amongst the passengers by the Waihora yesterday, was Mr CamerOnVjbf the firm of Cameron and Co , tobacco/manufacturers' New York. Mr Cameron has been on a visit to the colonies on business' and proceeds to San Francisco by the next outgoing mail. ; . -
Mr Bryce is expected in Auckland in about ten days. His visit is in connection with the North Island Main Trunk Railway, and native matters in the Waikato. Electric Light in Auckland.
At the Harbor Board meeting this afternoon Messrs F. J. Moss and C 67 submitted a scheme : for lighting thej Queen Street wharf by electricity, at a cost of £300 per annum. ■
