AUCKLAND.
This day. French Designs on Pacific Islands. The schooner Queen, which has arrived from Earotonga, reports that a large French warship has been cruising about, and the officers have been ashore every day making enquiries regarding the produce of the island. The natives fear thr.b it is intended to annex the Islands.
