This day. By the s.s. Rotomahana to-day, Charles Hicks, of Wellington (late of Thames), takes ten tons of quartz to the Thames for crushing. It is from the Makara, midway between Wellington and Terawhiti. Hicks is the son of the manager of the Caledonian, and Moorcraft, Gibbons, Muir, and others, old Thamesites, are shareholders. '.
