The Humphrey's Gully United Com* pany at Hokitika washed up their tail racs, on Saturday night last and got 44ozs gold; this makes a total of 119ozs already obtained in bringing up their'tail race, and proves the highly auriferous nature of the ground and its payable charcter when the permanent supply of water is available. This yield,is only top stuff, and does not include the heavy gold, which w ill no t be gdt out'tiirthetairrace is lowered about 20 feet on to the reef,"which work the directors intend puttin*in bpid at once. The Piory Cross's (Greymouth) crushing has yielded 2850z5. retorted gold; and the fortnight's crushing for the Keep-it** Dark inine in the same district has yielded 3200zs gold.
