Intelligence has been received from Chics Island, off the coast of Asia Minor, that a severe shock of earthquake has been experienced there. A large number of houses have been destroyed, and several persons seriously wounded, though no loss of life occurred. News is also to hand that the earthquake caused serious damage at Aivaili (sic), and that a number of deaths have occurred.
