Mining Company Meeting.

A special general meeting of the shareholders of the above Company "was held yesterday morning in the large room, of the Insurance Buildings, Auckland, ibr the purpose.of re-considering the formation of the Company. There was a large attendance. Mr J. A. Pond was called to the chair, and he opened the proceedings with an explanatory speech, which traversed much the same ground as the printed circular published by us on Thursday last. He commented favorably upon the Co.'s prospects, aud after some discussion, it was'' 1 , agreed on the motion of Mr Burtt, »«-,>*" conded by Mr James Eeid, "That the *' action taken by the directors in reference to the re formation of the company be approved." • Carried. . The Chairman then proposed, Mr Morpeth seconded, and it was agreed, " Tbat-a share list be opened on the 19th instant, and that the public, as well as shareholders, be invited to apply for shares in the new company, but that in the allots ment preference be given to the present holders of Queen of Beauty Extended." It was also resolved on the motion of - the Mayor (Mr J. M. Clark), "That the present directors carry on operations until the new company be formed, and that on the formation of the new company a meeting of shareholders be called for the appointment of directors." A vote of thanks* to the chairman brought the proceedings to a close.
