During a thunderstorm at Bathurst a man was struck dead at his farm-
On Monday morning, the 24th, an explosion of gas took place in a sewer. Some damage was done, and one child was hurlejl in the air and injured, necessitating hbi^pltl treatment. The actual cause of the explosion has not yet been ascertained, but it is believed that some defiant gas made its way into the sewer. Mrs Hampson's mission has been most successful. The nightly attendance hai averaged five thousand.
An inquest is proceeding into the death of a woman named Elizabeth Phillips at Wooloomooloo. The evidence has disclosed fearful brutality and; revolting particulars. Fifteen young men criminally assaulted the woman, and left' her leaked in a cave during a pouring rain all night. In the morning she was found dead.
