AUCKLAND.
This day.
News has been received from Kawhia that Mr Bryce and the Constabulary have landed all right, and without any obstruction. Major Tuke will command the Kawhia station. It is uncertain whether any Constabulary will be brought from Waikato or not. With 30 sent from Wellington, there are over 90 in all now at Kawhia, and it is thought that this may be enough to answer the purpose aimed at.
At the Acclimatisation Society's meeting yesterday, it was stated that trout are plentiful at Komata.
A correspondent to the Star suggests that the cause of the Mataura meat going bad was because when the Mataura was taking in cargo, another vessel at the same wharf was loading blood manure.
