Bishop Bed wood "preached an eloquent panegyric on the late Archbishoy Vaughan. It; has transpired that the deceased prelate has left all his property, which has been sworn at | £61,823, to the Church.
MELBornNE, This day.
Mr Gillies, Minister of Railways, announced in the Assembly last night that it is intended to use Wood's break on all lines north of the Yarra, and Westinghouse,s break on the Southern lines. The Argus to-day commenting on the announcement strongly condemned the decision of the Railway Department.
Mblboubne, Yesterday.
The Messageries Maritime Company's steamship Sagbalien, by which the two Irish informers, Kavanagh and Hanlcn, were passengers for Europe, sailed this morning for Marseilles. The Commercial Bank of Australia have offered a reward of £1000 for the discovery of the robber, of bullion and notes from the bank safe last night.
The Melbourne Presbytery met again to day to consider the charge of heresy which has been preferred against the Rev. Chas, Strong. After discussion, it was resolved to refer the charge to the General Assembly of the Scotch Church.
