MOANATAIRI.

The manager to-day broke down the leader on the footwall of No. 9 reef at the 132 ft level, Heldt's section, at the point where gold was left showing last week, and obtained 491bs specimens, gold still being left in the roof. The leader varie3 from two to six inches in width, and to-day's haul of stone was taken from a space not more than four feet by three feet. QUEEN OF BEAUTY. The trial parcel from the seaward drive at No. 10 level yielded about Bdwts per load, but as this is not quite payable, the directors have stopped work in this direction. . The manager, however, intends to recommend them to push the drive forward again as soon as possible. The contractors for the northern drive at the bottom level have advanced the face 14 feet during the week. The reef is opening out, and is now 2 feet in width, but has shown no gold yet. The stopes in hand here continue to look pretty well, a little' gold being seen. At No. 8 level work on the tributers' lead has been stopped. The contractors for the Bird-in-Hand crosscut drove 10 feet in the past week.

MAEINER. The winze on the cross-leader, at No. 3 level, holed through to the crosscut put in at No. 4 last night, and the manager has started the men to drive seaward. The leader is rather split up where cut in the drive.

LONDON. Most of the men are at present engaged cleaning out an old winae on No. 2 reef at No. 3 level, to ventilate the eastern drive at No. 4. The work has been difficult, owing to the ground being loose, but another fifteen feet should complete it. Driving eastward will then be pushed on till the contractors start. The No. 2 reef has not been taken down in the eastern drive at No. 3 level lately, the one man .here being engaged stripping. A few days ago a start was made with a winze on this reef, at a point about 50 feet from the crosscut, but after sinking it 5 feet the men were removed. Colors of gold were seen in taking down the reef. This winze will ultimately be sunk to No. 4 level to meet the drive.
