This day. Intelligence has jusi been received here from Mr G. Vesey Stewart that he has arranged for the sale of the railway contract to a syndicate in London. The construction of the railway to the Lakes is therefore certain. The s.B. Northumberland, 20G0 tons, has been laid on for Auckland direct, sail ing on Sept. 25th, and immediately after, a sailing vessel of* 600 tons, now loading, will leave direct for Taurahga with railway Übiitf navvies, and their families.
