The s.s. Doric.

Auckland, Saturday; Tbe Doric is anchored off the Quarantine hulk. Owing to her papers beinc sent for fumigation to the hulk full details cannot be obtained as to the nunv ber of immigrants ard their destination. Captain -Metcatlf reports:—-49 days out from Plymouth ; called at St. Vincent and . the Cape of Good Hope. She brings 42 Vsaloon, 74 second cabin, and 474 steerage •passengers, of which the Government immigrants number 276 isouls. Nearly all the Government immigrants are for Auckland. Dr Johnston and the ship's husband report that the health has been -good during the voyage. Three children died during the voyage, viz., John By land, 3 months old, of convulsions ; Catherine Dwyer, 2 months, debility; Winifred Godwin, 10 years, consumption. Measles broke out among the Government immigrants in the steerage nine days after . leaving Plymouth. There have been 25 cases, of which seven are now existing, 3So deaths occurred from the disease. Dr . Philson intends to recommend to the authorities that the cases of measles be removed to the Quarantine Station, Motuihi Island. The ship will be fumigated, and when admitted to pratique will come up to the wharf. Her passengers for Auckland are : F. W. Bowerman, Alfred K. Coles, J. B Kennedy and three in family, and Mr and Mrs W. H. Lyon. Second Saloon: Michael Hanlon, Fanny Ernest, Thomas and Peginald Press, G. A. G. Clements, Alexander Harvey, Harvey Tetley, Samuel Biebord, and Ella English; Mrs Leighton, 'Leopold Perret, Kcbecca Warren, George and Jane Fox, Mary Hoxton, Ellen Steplienpon, Jennie Hastings, and 1 Leonard Prohih. Sunday. In accordance with instructions from Wellington the seren children sick with the measles, have been landed at the quarantine station with their respective families. Tbe Doric has just returned to her position near the hulk, and is flying the Health Officer's flag. Dr Philson is now going to visit her. Mr March, the Christcburch emigration officer, accompanies him, to arrange for the transfer of the Southern immigrants to tbe South, and to supervise them.
