OUR MINES.

NEW PRINCE IMPERIAL. The manager telegraphed late this afternoon :—" 2cwfc specimens and picked stone, Bth stope, No. 2 section west, No. 5 level.— Q. 8.; Clabk." This makes 13cwt on hand. DART. Another body of quartz was struck in the cross-cut afc No. 3 level on Saturday at a distance of 7 feet from the one passed through on Thursday, but none of-i the quartz was broken down till to-day^ It was pierced this morning for two feet-, and solid quartz was found behind,'so there is no doubt about this lode/being the No. 2 reef. The stone loots well, carries favorable minerals, and some colors of gold were seen in taking it down. The reef just passed is striking towards No. 2, and will apparently junction with it about 15 feet east of the crosscut. The winze being sunk on No. 2 reef at No. 2 level is down 4 feet, and the quartz shows colors of gold. MOANATAIRI. The manager reported on Saturday as follows :—"l32ft level: The lead referred to in ray last, and which junctions with I No. 9, has produced altogether 801bs of specimens and picked stone during the week, and a fair show yet visible abdnt' four feet from the junction. The lead will average four inches in thickness; it has a very strong appearance, as well as the gold it produces. It will be a day or two before we shall be f^ a position to take down the lead where the gold is now showing. Stoping will be proceeded with south-east oa No. 9 as well,, in order to more fully prove the block ia that direction, and which is in the run of the big patch. I did some prospecting at this point, and obtained a little gold, a few months since, but it was too hot'to follow up ; we can now obviate that difficulty by means of passes for ventilation. The lead in foot wall of No. 9, and on which we sunk below tunnel level and ar« now driving on, is still poor, but it may improve and become remunerative before functioning with No. 9 reef. We are stopiog a small promising lead in the Morning Star section above 115 ft. level. A little gold is,seen in breaking it down. The Crown crosscut was started on Tuesday last. I have let to two men a tribute in the Nonpareil section; the block is between the inter* mediate and low levels.—J. G-. Vivun." MARTHA EXTENDED (WAIHI). The manager on Saturday afternoon banked 220pzs retorted gold,-which on, melting to-day was reduced to 2190z5. This is the product of the past six weeks' operations, during which time about 600 tons of dirt have been passed through the mill. The yield is about the same average as last month, and is payable, as ■' the reef is large and easily broken. .
